Well Hell!
I went to check my coolant level several hours after replacing a defective water pump and noticed that the electric fan in front of the radiator was running. Tried starting the car and nothing but click, click, click.
I tried stopping the fan by disconnecting the smaller of the two connections which I always have to unplug when I pull the mechancical fan and shroud. That did nothing...fan stayed running.
In desperation, I disconnected the negative cable from the battery...that stopped the fan.
Here's the rub...we're hosting a dinner party and guests will start arriving in about an hour so I won't be able to research the problem till much later tonight. I can pretty much guarantee that I won't be fun host tonight while this crap is weighing heavily on my mind! Dammit!
Just thought I'd post here in case anyone has any experience with this. I'm really hoping that it'll be a cheap easy fix! What little I did google on it doesn't look very promising...a whole new fan ($$$) may be in my future!
Help, insight, opinions...welcomed!
