is Austin the best music city in the USA?

I think so. Nashville and Memphis might have something to say about this but i think Austin tops them. SXSW is one of the biggest music festivals in the world with 2000 plus bands from all over the world in a 10 day city wide party, The Austin City Limits PBS broadcast is the longest running music program ever, ACL fest is two weekends that now rivals Bonaroo and Lolapalooza. Fun fun fun fest is getting bigger every year, The Austin Psych Fest was started by The Black Angels and this year The 13th floor Elevators are getting back together.
