Failed jump start

Hi guys,

After leaving the car in the garage for around two weeks, the battery died and the car wouldn't start not even the interior lights would turn on. Today I tried jump starting it through the battery in the trunk, and the alarm went off, and all electronics sparked to life. I tried switching off the alarm through the remote however to no avail, so I tried turning on the engine so I won't piss off the neighbours. As I tried to do so the interior lights went out together with the dashboard so I assumed I drained the last bit of charge it had. I turned off the 'charger' car and disconnected the jumper cables and tried again, this time the dashboard lights began flickering and I let the 'charger' car idle for around 10 minutes yet there were no signs of life. Can anyone please advise me on what I can do please?

I've read that it would be more wise to connect the jumper cables to the terminals under the car hood, however I would like to be certain that would work as I won't be able to push the car back into the garage should I not be able to jump start it due to the steep angle.

Thanks in advance!
