Here's my BMW "F"-up of the week (FOTW):
And yes, I did do a search.
Odd "problem," my outside temperature indicator on the dash suddenly seems to be indicating what I presume is the coolant temp. Started driving this morning in 40 degree weather and my outside temperature was reading perhaps 90 after a minute or two finally climbing up to about 120+ after a few minutes. Needless to say, here on the East Coast in March, it is not 120+ degrees.
So, what's up with this odd FOTW? Is the ECU suddenly sending it coolent or some other temp? I tried doing a reset (holding in stalk button) to no effect. Or, is the Final Stage Unit, which has been acting up, somehow sending spurious cabin temp readings (it was not 120 in my car this morning)?
Or something else (expensive inevitably :( )?
