No Crank, No Start Issue?

Hey all, I just wanted to see if I could get some feedback on a friend of mine's 325i. So the other day while driving home from work, my friend's BMW decided to cut off completely while driving.. it went completely cold. When he pulled over and tried to start it, not only would it not start but it also failed to crank (no sounds, taps, etc.) Additionally, no signs or lights will come on when the key is inserted and turned. So basically, the car is completely black when turning the key. After trying to jump the car from another vehicle, the car did not respond at all. However, the battery (when tested) showed a steady current indicating normal. On the bright side, there were no indications of a blown fuse (checked the box and all the fuses), the power still works to allow for the cigarette lighter outlet to be used, and the car still locks with all lights (internally and externally) as usual.



So, with all of this considered, any ideas as to what it could be? I have my own ideas but I don't want to fuel any preconceived fires here. Any opinions? Thanks!
