Sorry- title should be "Help with coolant level"
2005 318i N42.
I just replaced the following after experiencing a leak in the system:
Thermostat and housing
Pump
Radiator cap
Upper hose
Heat exchanger
All other parts in the system seem ok and I don't see any drips or traces in the lower pan or garage floor anymore.
However, after a few days the coolant warning light would go on once in a while. In a typical 1hour drive to work, the light would go on about 2-3 times for 10-15 mins then go off again.
In the morning after about 3 days, I would open the rad and it would need filling by an additional 1 liter.
Now I've read the tips bleeding and filling the coolant and flow them. When I open the rad, the stick would rise to normal levels but it would still need about 1L of water before the coolant goes out of the bleed cap..
Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Thanks
