Talk me out of listing my home by owner

I'm selling my house soon and with how fast homes are moving around here I'm thinking of at least giving it a few weeks by owner before listing with an agent. My brother in law just did and got 5 solid offers in 10 days!



Any reason not to at least try it? Will I get shunned by realtors if I do decide to formally list a month down the road?
