I have a small bed in front of my house that currently has a single ugly bush and nothing else and I want to grow some food. The soil is decent, but hard packed with a little gravel, so I'm planning on building a raised garden with 2x6's and filling with better soil. There is shade on the left hand side of the plot and the stairs to the right give a little shade during the day, but overall it gets a lot of direct sunlight. I have a hose bib just to the right of the bush so I'm wondering if some sort of drip irrigation might be best...:dunno: I have never attempted to grow anything so all of this is new to me. I'm all ears.
