Hello all,
I have an 2004 BMW 318 with about 94,000 miles in great shape. No problems until 3 months ago. At that time the water light came on. I pulled over and steam came from the radiator.
I brought it to a garage. They advised that it was hard to know for sure what was wrong. They changed the radiator and the temperature gauge.
The car was ok for about 1 day. Then the water light came on again. This time the water pipe had broken. Water pipe replaced. All well again for one day.
Then the emissions light came on. There was a lot of white smoke from the exhaust. Garage felt it was a sensor. Sensor changed. White smoke resolved
The car now revs at rest up to about 2000 revs per min. This did not happen previous. After about 200 miles the exhaust emissions light has come on again.
There has been considerably cost in trying to fix this car. Not sure who to ask or what to do next?
