Recently I decided to replace all 4 rotors and brake pads.
First run: Was able to replace front drivers and rear passengers without any problems. The other two zimmerman rotors could not rotate without rubbing against the bracket upon rotation... very strange as the existing rotors rotated freely without any signs of warpage. So I thought that they were warped out of box and had the parts dept send me another fresh set.
Second run: Now with reordered new Zimmermans I was able to successfully replace the rear drivers without any problems. However, the front passengers rotor again looks to be off axis / warped and I could not get it to turn without it rubbing the brackets at some time during the rotation. I had to unfortunately but pack the old rotor again which had no problems whatsoever.
Here is a video of the new zimmermans vs the old rotors on the same wheel: http://ift.tt/1pxtqnt
Here are things I have tried:
- made sure the surfaces were well brushed and cleaned with wire brush (although this wouldn't make sense since the existing rotor had no problems)
- made sure that the rotor screw was well tightened. I even tired to loosen them to get them to balance well and that didn't work
- not sure if wheel bearing is faulty, however, existing old rotor showed no signs of warpage or sounds
Question: Is it just my bad luck that the parts dept sent me 2 warped out of the box rotors? or are they just wrong parts for my car? how does it explain that they sent me what seems like a good fitting rotor for 2/4 wheels?
Thanks for your help!
