Hey guys,

Its been a while since ive posted

Sad news, my pride and joy is now written off because of someone else's incompetent and reckless driving behaviour. It had been written off due to economical reason as per NRMA letter, damage isnt too bad please refer to pictures. Im unsure if you can easily re-register in NSW.

Anyways, i really like to part out and make the most back of what ive invested. Unfortunately ive been busy of late so Im open to both parting out, but would much prefer sell as a whole if the price is right.

The accident happened only within 2 months on me fixing up the following;

1. Engine Oil flush and replaced oil filter and full oil change with Penrite HPR 5

2. Power Steering oil filter, and oil change with Penrite LDAS Fluid

3. Coolant flushed, replaced Coolant expansion tank, Thermostat and OEM Coolant Fluid

4. Replaced Engine oil sensor

5. Replaced Timing belts

6. Replaced Air filter

7. Replaced Radiator

8. Replaced Engine seals and grommets

So I put on a horror movie (dead silence) while I was handing out candy tonight... at one point the doggies ran upstairs (not normal except for horror movies). I immediately thought about an article I read a while back suggesting that many ghost reports were found due to a certain frequencies in the environment.

Long story short.... I wonder if I can I download these frequencies and play them in my workplace? It's for a scientific experiment where the dependent variable is my coworkers' sanity.

I love my 16's, but...

and usually hate suggestion threads, but I'm gonna be a hypocrite here and ask for your opinions. I'm looking to within the next few weeks upgrade to either style 44's or style 68's. I currently have style 43's, and they honestly look quite good compared to the really common 16's you see on base model 325 sedans. So which of the two do you think look better on a steel grey pre-facelift coupe? Kinda at a loss here, any feedback would be appreciated!

Rough/lean issue only on cyl. 3 and 4?

Hey guys

Im sincerely frustrated with this car.:censor: I have been dealing with issues since purchasing it last year and have not yet been able to identify the real culprit.:ben:

INPA is spitting out codes:

202 Lambda control block Bank 1

227 Lambda cotrol tolerance Bank 1

240 Cyl. 3 Misfire

241 Cyl. 4 Misfire

Adaptation values are below 0.20. Currently 0.11

Multiplicative is at 0.00

Sometimes the misfire spreads to cyl. 5 after a while of driving after clearing codes.

I have replaced the CCV system, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Smoke tested for vacuum leaks and sealed everything, Replaced DISA Gasket, and Replaced ICV gasket.

Coils and plugs were rotated to subtract from list of possibilities.

There are only a couple more things I can think of that it could be:

1. Fuel Pressure Regulator- Which I think if it was at fault would be causing a random misfire not just in the center cylinders.

2. Clogged Fuel injectors- also dont believe this is the problem, due to the only 120k on the car and maintenance records show maintenance replacement of fuel filter. Also fuel injector cleaner has been run through the tank several times to no avail.

In need of some informed advice of where/what I might be missing.

I was a tech for years and haven't been frustrated by a car as bad as this since my last experience with an 850i.:evil:

The dreaded SES light

A week ago the light came on after my wife filled the gas tank and she mentioned how the gas cap wasn't as hard to take off or put on. I figured it was a faulty cap and expected my cheap OBII reader to show it, didn't happen. The reader showed a fault but wouldn't/couldn't identify it. I ordered the 16 pin adapter for my Peake tool and it showed 3 codes, table 19 code 25, main relay 76 throttle position sensor and a misfire on cyl 6. Today I stopped at Advance Auto and had them read it and it showed thermostat circuit, WTF? After I got home I pulled the connector on the T-stat (only 2 yrs old) and put some dielectric grease on the connections as I had done to the only connectors I could get to easily near the throttle body. The MAF and DISA connections. After dinner I went back out and read the codes again and 76 is the only one that showed up so I cleared it and will keep my fingers crossed it stays off. The reading I did on the 76 code calls for replacing the throttle body ($$$) but it shouldn't trip the SES light because it's not emissions related. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have an 04 vert, and the back driver's side blinker does not work. The right side is fully functional, and the left side's brake light still works. Is there anything I can do? except buy new talights. Also, will angel eyes work with my car? How should I go about them, with the daytime running lights?

Resonator delete with magnaflow muffler?

I recently got a magnaflow muffler installed on my 2000 BMW 328i and it's just not quite loud enough but I don't have a lot of money to spend I was thinking about removing one of the resonators. Does it make a difference which resonator I get removed? Or does it not matter?

Water in drivers rear trunk...near battery

Hi everyone,

My other half has a 2007 BMW X3, we just noticed water in the rear of the vehicle which seems to stem from the drivers side. I found it underneath the trunk bed..the battery was actually sitting in a 3/4 of a inch of water..ive done some research and found it mostly like is clogged left rear drain hose which I can see when I open up the drivers side interior panel located in the trunk. I read here http://ift.tt/1rXyY82 that you need to drop down roof liner to access top of roof drain to clean out the drain with like a stiff cord. Anyone able to explain which screws, I must be blind, I was out their for a while looking..and can't find another article or DIY on the subject. Thank you if anyone can help!

gm5 attempt to repair

Hi! fellow fanatics that are here every day refreshing the page & readying as much possible on free time knows that 2 days ago in attempt to repair my loose window, I shattered it in million pieces but end up fixing it my self like always. But while at the junk yard ended up picking up a antenna transmitter 315mhz to switch with my old one.

Well interesting enough my door know won't lock \unlock using the key fob like before after installing the new Antenna transmitter.. I did read Scott GM5 l.com on the issue and when my key on the ignition it does beep if left on and it does start the car.. So I can eliminate the EWS !?

Now! Before all of these I did replace my actuator in attempt to fix the driver door WONT UNLOCK ISSUE and it didn't fix, so I just came to a full conclusion that my GM5 RELAY*Tyco/SIEMEN V23084-C2001-A303 does need to be replaced..

I was thinking of taking it apart and just taking it to a computer repair shop to have them solder iron the relay back together . at what cost I do not know.. Heck shouldn't be more then $30 huh?

My name is Neil and I live in central/eastern Maine. I'm 22 years old and an avid Stance culture enthusiast. I started with VW when I was in highschool and have since grown up a little. I currently have a 2000 323iT with factory taninrot sport leather (the only reason I bought a wagon) and a 2009 135i M-Sport auto. I daily drive a 1993 grand Cherokee and also have a 2000 corolla which the fiancé daily drives. In the off season I do a lot of backcountry snowmobile riding in northern Maine. HP Upgrades

What performance upgrades could I do for my 2000 328i?

Set time machine to 2008.

I drive a 2004 BMW M3 with the business CD and have spent a decent amount of coin attempting to integrate my car audio with my ipod and later iphone. The finished product has never felt good enough for me.

Here is the timeline:

2008 Install DICE BMW IPod Integration kit with the ashtray spec dock for an iPod.

2009 Install new spec dock and DICE unit with updated voltage for 30 pin connector after Apple changes the pin layout and voltage.

2012 Apple changes from 30pin to lightning connector. I purchase Dynavin D99+ with Android Nav. Nav board works twice then refuses to boot. I also relocated the HVAC controls to make way for the Dynavin.

2013 Install Double DIN bezel and Pioneer Appradio, which includes cutting out the heater core shroud.

2014 Apple iOS 8 makes Appradio obsolete. :censor:

At this point I want to put the business CD back in. Reinstall a DICE unit or similar and connect it to a bluetooth reciever like this and leave it in the glove box or behind.

This would provide factory fit and finish and factory bluetooth phone integration, and hopefully future proof. My only question is, would it work?

Won't Start. Fuel Pump was replaced 1 year ago.

I am having the no start issue again. Seems exactly like a dead fuel pump however when I put the key to ON position, I can hear it priming.

Also the fuel pump was replaced less than a year ago. I bought an OE pump from BMAparts with the filter and relay. So I am wondering if there anyway to cross the fuel pump off the list as the cause of the problem.

When I start the car, it cranks. So I assume its not a battery, starter, EWS problem.

Also the RPM guage moves so I assume its also not an Crank/Cam sensor problem.

I am completely stumped as to what it can be.

The Coolant Warning light came on yesterday, I shut the car off and drove my other car. Was going to refill the coolant today and car wouldn't start. The cooling system was performed also 1 year ago.

Catless headers, no CEL...yet

how many Miles/Km's does it take for your CEL to kick in after catless headers?

it's been a month and 3 weeks since i installed headers. travelling 840k miles (1350 km) and still no CEL.

just wondering because im just curious and car is going into hiberantion soon...plus i gotta do emission in March of next year

New front brakes dragging noise

I recently had my front rotors, pads and sensor replaced with OE parts in my M3 ZCP. I was just wondering if it's normal for the brakes to produce dragging noise (when very slowly freewheeling to a stop or turning) when new? About how long should it take for the brakes to seat properly and for the noise to completely dissipate or should I take it back to the shop? Thanks in advance!

Coolant leak at bolt on front of engine

I have a coolant leak at one of the bolts on the lower right front (I think timing chain cover). One of the lowest bolts on the front of the block.

Looks like a white bloom of coolant that clearly is expressing through the bolt hole and crystallizing. Any idea what would cause it? Broken bolt?

Table made from old wheels

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted on here but i just wanted to see if this would generate any interest..

I made this table from a damaged Ferrari 458 wheel that I was able to get my hands on. I was really happy with the way that it came out, and so I was wondering if anyone on here would have any interest in having me make a customized table using a wheel/wheels that they have just lying around. The table would look like this one, but you can choose whatever color you want me to paint/stain the wood. The way I make the table does not damage/affect the wheel in any way.

So does anyone have any old wheels just taking up space that they want to turn into a cool and unique table?? Private message me if interested!

Considering buying and parting out my wreck

It's a 2002 M3 SMG, 110,000km in melbourne

The front right corner has taken a substansial hit, see this Thread for some images, the car is now a Stat write off, it has the red interior, and all the electronic options (including a rear blind)

Would anyone be interested in any parts if I proceeded with this?

SMG Problem

I was driving my 2003 M3 with SMG transmission, when I got to the stop, I stepped on the gas and nothing, it wouldn't move and no engine revs, I looked at the gear gauge and it was in 2nd gear, tried to shift to first gear, nothing happen, tried to put into auto mode, nothing happened, took the key out and waited for 20 seconds and started the engine, shifted into first gear and it drove, went to the next light and it did the same so I brought it to my mechanic friend [ lucky he lived 2 blocks away ] and he took off my shifter cover and pulled out the connectors and replugged it back in, went driving for 15 minutes with no problems then it happened again.

This happened the first 2 times in auto mode and the last time in manual mode, has this happened to anyone else? Anyone with fix for this problem? Thanks in advance.

Help no crank no start.

I need some help guys. My car was fine then I went to autozone to return a tool then I came back to the car and it won't start! It won't crank or anything just one click sound when I try to start. Had them bring out a new battery and still same issue so not battery problem. I did notice my car started to idle up and down a lot when I first turned on the ac but not sure if that is related. Any ideas? Tried jumping and it doesn't help.

2001 E46 Coupe speakers..nightmare!

Hey people!

Ok so I've upgraded from a '96 Estoril Blue 328 to a '01 Velvet Blue 330 coupe which I have to say is such a different drive, so much better!

I've taken it and upgraded the brakes to brembo, poly bushed the front (rear was mint!), facelift rear lights are in, front left wheel bearing replaced and now have paintwork booked in for the front end to rid the stone chips.

I'll be replacing the business stereo with something I can both call and charge my phone from, when replacing that I'll pull the heater panel out and clean the circuit board/fan.

Now for the question..what are the speaker sizes in a 2001 E46 Coupe? I've been given all sorts of information that has just confused me.

Running a freshwater aquarium

So I recently purchased a small 5 gallon picturesque wall mount aquarium simply for decor. Boy was I in for a surprise.

I learned all about nitrogen-cycling the water, building bacteria, having zero ammonium levels, proper PH levels, and proper water temperatures.

After a week or 2, figure I'd start off with some basic little neon tetra fish to see how they react to my cycled water. Two of them died within a day, one has survived.

Did an ammonium check, an I'm still at 0.25ppm , did a 10% water change, added 2 drops of stresszyme and stress coat and added a tiny amount of ammolock.

Anyone have any info or care to share their experiences?

Squeaking when shifting; bad guibo or something else?

I get a split second squeaking noise when I shift, especially in lower gears and high rev.

Is it the guibo? The noise is from the rear on my 2001 325ci. If it's not the guibo, what can it be?

I got my codes read after my car kept stalling out and my ses light was on. The code I got was p0335 crankshaft position sensor malfunction A. I replace . The sensor and the light is still on and the car still feels weak and runs poorly. My SES light is still on. Help!

i think that my fuel pump going to failure and planning to replace is with new one. genuine bmw fuel pumps is very expensive and think to buy VDO or AIRTEX. According to your experience, which one to buy? the price is almost equal

I over tighten the bolt and it broke... I asked my dealer and he couldn't find the part number. Any help appreciated.

Citation showed up in the system after 11 months. Am I screwed?

Hey people, I'll try to keep it short.

1) Received a fixit ticket August of 2013

2) Showed up to court before due date with proof of correction, was told it isn't in the system

3) showed up once more on the date due, again, not in the system, was given a paper stating i showed up.

4) Kept checking up on it online for about 3 months - nothing.

5) I move apartments, forget about the ticket and evidently lose the ticket itself along with proof of appearance. :thanks:

6) 3 weeks ago I check online for another fixit ticket, find old ticket in the system with a past due court appearance, a hold on license, new fine amount $800. F#ck.

7) Remove hold ($10), schedule a date to appear in court (tomorrow + received a "courtesy" call about new court date... THANKS!) but now I have no proof of appearance or proof of correction.

What to do?

Guys which brake pads have the lowest dust these days? I know Axxis PBR has been discontinued and I need new pads ASAP but don't want to deal with the OEM dust. Any info appreciated. THX:thumbsup:

hey so Im fairly computer handicapped. i have a mac and i downloaded the new OS yosemite and now my final cut doesnt work it says " you cant use this version of final cut pro with this version of OS X you have final cut 10.0.7"

is there a free player or converter i can use or should i just download a different version with a different extension.

BMW Scanner 1.4 Can't connect to IKE/EWS

Hello,

After tinkering with my Scanner 1.4 using 2 different computers (win 8 64-bit and win xp) , 3 sets of drivers, bridging pins 7+8 and pins 1+2 I still get the same error: "Cant connect to IKE,EWS" or "Hardware Faulty". Does anyone know of a fix for this?

VVT/Valvetronic motor replacement tips 2004 318

My valvetronic motor is shot on my 2004 318 and Im going to replace it myself as i think it looks a fairly simple job (a decent bit less hassle than the ccv!!!!)

Im after some tips from anyone thats done it before, ive had a google and looked on here but not too much info to be found for my car.

A few things:

1)Do I need to replace the eccentric shaft sensor (i think its called?) at the same time, like a pair? The scanner has only indicated a valvetronic motor issue, but my haynes manual puts the two together like a pair to be replaced, unless I am reading it wrong.

2) Is the removal the same as some other bmws ive seen in that you manually turn the worm drive ccw to remove, then replace the motor and wind it cw?

3) Finally, will having the key in position 2 without starting the engine adust the position to suit automatically with no other input?

I might buy a 328i but I need input

Okay so currently I drive a jeep Cherokee and get 10-12 mpg, I'm about to graduate high school and I'll be heading to the university of arkansas. Gas would cost to much in my jeep so I started looking at cas and I came across a 328 with 157k miles. I don't have a lot of money to spend on repairs. Is this a car that would be easy and cheap to maintain? Input would be awesome. Thanks

HK Speaker Problem

Soo i noticed when i was driving that the sound from my passenger door was absent, so i played around with the presets and the volume on the three speakers was extremely low and also it was muffled and you could also here static. And sometimes theres no sound at all from that side. Is this an amp problem or did all my right side speakers blow? I also have bavsounds soundplicity one installed on to my car its a 2005 330xi w/nav.

2001 BMW 330i CEL

Hey guys. Just picked up a 2001 330i w/ 66k miles. Most of you may know it as the "HEYOFFCR" car that was impounded a few years ago on here. Rebuilt by the user niL, a good friend of mine.

So I've had the car for 2 weeks now, and recently the check engine light came on. It's throwing error codes P0171 and P0174 as well as a few misfire codes (can't remember exactly which ones). I read up on it and noticed that these are common issues with the E46 models. It seems that the previous owner may have just cleared the CEL light before selling it to me. I should've had it checked out before hand. Anyway, I took it to Motorcepts out here in Queens, NY and they performed a smoke test and found 2 vacuum hose leaks, replaced that. Also replaced the spark plugs with NGK spark plugs, the previous ones were some cheap AutoZone ones. I drove the car around for literally 4 blocks and the CEL came back on. Now I am running out of ideas on what could cause the issue. I had my BMW mechanic take a look at the engine bay area. We noticed that there was an non-oem MAF sensor installed. Could that be the issue? I've read up on a lot of people on forums saying that can cause these codes as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Coolant System Bleeding. Doing it wrong??

A few weeks ago I replaced the thermostat in my E46 (amongst other things) and for some reason, I cannot seem to get all of the air out of my system now. Here is my process I go through every few days or so:

I drive my car, get it up to temp (just daily driving)

Let her cool off. Unscrew expansion tank cap, level is perfect.

Unscrew the bleed screw, little air pressure excapes, pressure equalizes.

Look into the bleed hole (where the bleed screw was) and I can see coolant floating around, but it's not at the brim.

I fill up the expansion tank until it comes out the bleed screw hole (only coolant and no bubbles)

Tighten bleed screw down.

*At this point the coolant level is so high in the expansion tank that I use a turkey baster to suck it out. That way the float level is correct*

Cap back on, drive for a few days, then I repeat the process.

Question: why is there continuously an air pocket under the bleeder screw? I know thats what it's there for, but I swear the amount of coolant I pour in each time is the same as the amount I have to suck out to get it level.

BMW 530d (E39) restoration

This restoration was done by RIXCAR, a vehicle workshop located in Riga, Latvia. Our previous projects include such cars as BMW E24 M6, Ford Thunderbird, Studebaker Golden Hawk and many other American and European classics. To see these, take a look at the RIXCAR Facebook page or homepage.

This time around, we are working on something different than our usual old-school classics - a BMW E39 530d that we use for our service needs. Anyway, we think this write-up might be interesting for many readers.

When the Beemer arrives at the workshop it’s looking quite sad, *but mechanically the car is rather sound; the engine and *running gear have been regularly maintained and are in good condition. The fully-loaded interior and electronic package are all in perfectly working condition as well. For the most part, it is the state of the body that is letting it down. All in all, the car is ready to be brought back to its former glory.

Rust damage is quite severe, the rocker panels and rear fenders have rusted the most. Rest of the body suffers from peeling clearcoat.

Work starts by repairing the damaged body panels, such as the front bumper and preparing the removable parts for painting to get them out of the way early on.

Work on the thoroughly rotten rocker panels and wheel arches has begun. The damaged panels are removed altogether in order to be replaced by panels in superior condition lifted off a non-runner.

New rear fender in its place, primed and sanded.

Body is being prepared for a respray. A coat of color reminiscent to the original will be applied, mixed locally in the paint mixing chamber.

The car sits patiently in the spray booth, waiting for the final session of the whole process to begin.

The pigment has been applied prior to clearcoat.

Forged wheels on for size, 18'' (ET20, J10 at the rear) MK Motorsports MK1s in their original state, but soon to be refurbished and resprayed after a color has been settled on after several experiments to see what would look best.
