Sedan fitment question

I searched first but couldn't find my answer. Let's say I'm getting a steal on the following set up and wonder if it would fit. Front is 19x8 et29 225/35/19 rear 19x9 et40 255/30/19. Would this fit on a 330i sedan oem sport suspension? Please advise. Thank you!

EONON 5150 wiring harness

I bought the EONON 5150 and decided to take it to Best Buy here in town and let them mess with install while I was at work. Only problem the wiring harness that came with it doesn't match up to my car.

I have a 2003 M3 with factory navigation. They are having a terrible time finding the wiring schematics to see colors of wires to hard wire it into the car or finding a wiring harness that will work. Does anyone know where I can the schematics or find a wiring harness that will work? All information is greatly appreciated.

I realize that there are multiple threads on this, but I believe I warrant a good reason to post my own thread since every BMW is unique in its own way. I do not want to mask myself with ignorance, so please post correct information and I will keep an open mind.

2002 330CI: screeching noise on incline only

Hi Guys,



My 2002 330CI with 205,000miles has a screeching noise coming from somewhere underneath when accelerating up the slopes of parking garages (not many hills in South Florida except for the garbage hills).



I have tried to replicate on flat roads with no success.



I have checked the belts and they look fine. Belts,pulleys and water pump install in December 2013.



Any suggestions or previous experience with this?





I plan to take it to my Indy to put on hoist and look underneath etc.

Slow start

2002 330i

Takes two key cycles to start the engine. Leave the key in on position for like 30 seconds to let the system run alil but no difference. No engine light. Could it be the starter or battery?

Noisy window seals

I've lived with this problem for years on my '04 325Xi, and I've had enough and want to address it. The windows on this car, when in the up/closed position are noisily as heck when going over bumps or deflections, and it really makes the car sound cheap to me and my passengers. Lowering them just a little removes the squeak/rattle, but of course adds noise and isn't practical. I do have them professionally tinted with film, so I have no idea if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas? Anyone experienced this? My search yielded nothing. The seals appear in good shape, and I have no leaks.

Window regulator was grinding; replaced clips; still grinding. Thoughts?

Recently, I performed everyone's favorite zip-tie fix on the front passenger window regulator after the clips broke loose and the window slid into the doorframe. It worked for a bit, sort of, but eventually failed. I say sort of, because the telltale grinding sound persisted.



I went head and bought these replacement clips and installed them today. They attach cleanly to the regulator rails.



Unfortunately, the grinding sound persists. Moreover, the window will only roll up about 75% of the way. It literally grinds to a halt. (This was the same fate that befell my previous zip-tie-fix-attempt). When I take the regulator out of the doorframe and attach the motor to it, there is no grinding. It only occurs when the regulator is in the doorframe.



So, clearly something is resisting the upward movement of the regulator. Any ideas? Does the regulator, perhaps, need to be "rolled down" to a certain position when it is reinstalled?



As always, your thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated.



TL;DR: Front passenger window regulator was grinding. Zip-tie fix failed (window ground to a halt while rolling up). Replaced broken clips (in lieu of zip-tie fix). Window still grinds to a halt at about 75% up.

E46 330ci or E36 M3

Hi guys I am looking at two different cars right now and I'd like some opinions. The first car is a 2004 e46 330ci coupe with 65k miles. The second car is a beautiful 1999 e36 m3 coupe in estoril blue manual transmission but it's has 170k miles. What do you guys think I should buy? Just got back from target. Asked the cashier on a date. U mad?

roll up to target in my black civic, blasting tunes, windows down. park in a handicapped spot cuz i came here for one thing and one thing only. head straight for the naughty aisle, pick up a pack of magnums (they're to big but i just use a rubber band)and slap em on the counter. nuttin else.

Clunk/knock from the rear, can I see subframe cracks/tears easily?

So, I starting hearing a knocking sound from the rear of the car yesterday evening. It was about 10pm, so tough to see things. I took the right rear off (where I heard the sound) and did a quick visual inspection.



Everything seems intact. Though I could not get a good look at the subframe. I used a rubber mallet and tapped on the trailing arm, control arms, swaybar and all sounded solid.



My first thoughts are RTAB (mechanic told me they would need replacing soon) or dreaded subframe. Can an RTAB quickly tear away?



Would I be able to see damage to the subframe area without actually removing any parts of the rear suspension?

To change the CCV, or not to change the CCV

My SES light has been on for months, and I'm at my wits end chasing down the cause of the P0171 and P0174 codes. I did find a loose clamp in the intake boot near the MAF sensor. I tightened that. I'm considering changing my CCV. I don't see any additional oil consumption, or leaks. When the car is running and I remove the oil filler cap, there is a fair amount of vacuum, making it difficult to remove the cap, then the idle stumbles a bit. When the car is shut off, there is a burping sound. Almost like the engine is relieving pressure. The hose from the valve cover to the CCV was cracked and brittle (replacing), and the hose from the dipstick to the CCV was deteriorated (also replacing). I've looked over the lower intake boot, and seems in good shape. Since it seems like a pretty time consuming project I want to make sure I'm chasing the right problem. Any thoughts or suggestions before diving into this repair?

Headlight question (HID)

The wife drives an 05 325i with the HID projectors...



Lately they have become pink/red and dim.



My first instinct is ballasts, because they are dim, but the color change makes me think bulbs... They are both doing it, if that matters.



Just wondering if y'all had any similar experiences? My previous experience with HIDs was hating them because ballasts didn't last, so I don't know a lot about them.

Engine noise

Hi all. My wife has a 316ti e46 which has developed a diesel like knock at idle. My mechanic thought it was solenoid but now believes it is further down in motor. Unfortunately he doesn't often work on e46 and is short of applicable tools to dig deeper. Recommends BMW dealers service to investigate further. Any ideas? It has 170 kms if that helps

FS:2001 330ci $1,500

Good news everyone, my car is for sale for $1,500. It is a 5 speed 2001 steel grey (400), grey interior, with wood trim 330Ci (base model.) It has about 191,000 on the clock, majority of which were highway miles. The interior/exterior has the wear and tear of a 13 year old car, however, it still looks good for its age. It is a great side project or parts car.



The bad news, the engine suffered a broken exhaust valve spring in cylinder 3 which is causing a rough idle and throwing CEL code P1347 (misfire cylinder 3 w/ fuel cutoff). The car does start, but as stated before has a rough idle, it can be driven onto a trailer for transport.



Included in this sell will be one brand new, never used, AC Schnizter replica 4 piece pedal set. Hood/Trunk carbon fiber roundels. One used P46 projector lens set, without the bulbs.



I also have 3 sets of wheels for the car, which, if you want included, will bring the price up. I have a set of staggered 19" gunmetal CSL wheels (no tires) curb rash on one rear wheel, 19" staggered Axxis supermesh, 3 original, 1 front replica which is damaged, with tires however the production date of tires is from '05 so I recommend replacing them. And lastly, 17" staggered M68's with tires used < 1,500 mi.

White smoke from exhaust?

After driving down the interstate for about 20 miles yesterday, I got into town and stopped at my dentist office. There was white smoke coming out of my exhaust.. Just plumes of it. So I turned my car off and did my business and came back out about two hours later, started up, and it had white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipes again! But only for about ten seconds, if that. Then it went away and didn't happen again until I got home and turned it off and back on a little while later. At first I was thinking head gasket.. But it smells like gas and it goes away almost immediately. I read on a forum that an engine running too rich could cause this, and I threw that code a couple weeks ago. Any ideas or ways to fix this?

Review-Replaced Trailing Arm Bushings with Ball joints

So this weekend I replaced the top trailing arm ball joints and the lower bushing with the same ball joint using a autozone jaw puller and sockets. While I was in there I installed new adjustable control arms. Honestly breaking the lower bushings free was intense, and took hours of cranking on the puller I used. I tried hammering, pb blaster, air guns, but eventually brute force and ignorance won. I would not recommend doing this unless you have a buddy to hold the control arm down when your are tightening the puller on the drivers side joints. I followed these instructions, but instead I just broke the bushing free with a 1 1/4" socket on crooked and then pushed it out with a 1", seemed to work much better- http://ift.tt/1zqLp1r



Overall the car felt much tighter, but would I do it again? No. I have new respect for those rubber bushings after watching how bloody strong they are spending hours trying to pop it out stretching them all sorts of directions.



But like that thread says, the 40 dollar puller from autozone can do the trick, if you absolutely need to replace these bushings. Also don't forget to tighten the joints up with the suspension pushed up, not in the drooped position! This can destroy your new bushings/ball joints.

Asa ar1 19" staggered figment on 03 325i

So basically I've been running 19 8.5 on front and 19 9.5 on the rear. No issues at all on the front but serious scraping on the rear over any medium sized bump in the road.



I have no clue what the current offset is. These wheels came from a friend of mine who sold his 08 330i before he sold the car.



This is currently on a 2003 325i. No rolled fenders, no drop. Stock suspension. Running kumho ecsta tires.



Is there any offset I can change to eliminate the rubbing or am I just simply running wheels that are too wide for my car and just need to get new ones?



Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Coilover install on '02 330CI cabrio.

I bought a set of 32 way AMS coilovers for my 330ci and was wondering if anyone knows what size of end bar link is used when you put this style of coilover in. The stock one is too long to mount to the shock so any info would be greatly appreciated on sourcing a set out I'm in the the gta.

Bad ping with Shark

01 330i, 5spd, stock engine.



Let me say first, the car pinged quite a bit stock, before Shark, I was hoping the shark would be a bit richer and eliminate it, not the case.

Its much worse with the shark. Everything works fine, power is fine, response is fine, no codes, fuel economy is normal, it just pings like crazy at part throttle.

I have read that replacing knock sensors can help, but that the ping can return. Be nice to figure out why its pinging and why the factory knock sening system does not catch it?

Loud whine when turning

Since last week when turning at low speed this loud whine comes up, will continue even after straightening the wheel then after couple seconds quiet down. Started out with just turning left but now i think i hear it turning right as well. I figured it's a power steering fluid or pump, until i notice the whine while not as loud as turning, is there when driving straight or parked. Any input? Turning the wheel parked doesn't increase the noise only when turning while moving slowly. The video can't capture the exact whine, it's much louder in person obviously. Thanks in advance

Dead car, good battery???

So 2 days ago I started the car after it had sat for a week. The starter turned over a little slower than usual. Enough to notice, thinking it was bc it sat for a week. 2days later, lights in dash come on, but no deal from starter. Today, totally dead. No light nada. (Btw anyone know how to open the rear hatch of a wagon when power is out?)



Take battery to shop, guy says it works. Guy is shady, take it to next shop. He says it's good. Now I'm like wtf. I'm going to re-connect and give it a jump and see what happens.



Any thoughts?

Gas on wires

hi guys,



In the process of removing my intake manifold, i had to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail. When I did that, I spilled a good amount of gas on the wires in the back of the engine.



How big of a problem do I have? I'm hoping it'll just evaporate, but paranoid that the gas has soaked into the wires waiting for a spark.

E46 Coupe FS: BSW Stage 1 Speakers (HK)

Ive had these on my car for a little over 3 years and decided to switch it up and go a new route. Speakers will come in original packaging. I currently still have the speakers in my front doors installed as i still have not purchased my new components yet. The rear deck speakers and rear mids have been removed about 6 months ago.

E92 335d problems:

Has anyone had these problems:



1. Cracks in the rim because of the run flats and the shocking state of uk roads? (On the multi spoke 19'')



2. Control valves and hoses on the turbo, fail quite easily, to which BMW will try to tell you to replace the pressure converter and charge you £780 (the part costs no more than £80 new). Took it to a reliable garage who told me that the parts I need are not made anymore hence why BMW wish to replace the entire unit. Now BMW tried to tell me that this was wear and tear, but they don't use that manufacturer for the replacement part. So BMW know that it was a design or manufacturing fault yet still try to stiff you.



3. In the current engine mapping the fuel economy is not great but remap the ecu and it can improve by 16% with a slight 10% increase in power



I've been in BMW a lot recently, and get all their reports yet never get the work done there. Apart from sytner chigwell who have been proper but they're 20 miles from my house.



Hoping everyone else enjoys their 335d tho.

TOPSPEED Full Titanium exhaust?

Hey guys recently I was researching some exhausts because I'm getting tired of my eisenmann and i came across a Top Speed *titanium* exhaust. I think it was priced for $1,600.. Is this one new? As far as I know they only had one SS GruppeM replica muffler. So I'm just curious if anyone knows anything about it and if its any good since the SS one has a lot of mixed reviews. I want something loud and I've been considering getting Agency Power, so I want to know if this TS titanium is maybe something i should consider as well... Anyone have any info about the fitment, sound, quality??

I emailed the guy and he said he bought the car qbout 4 months ago and the misfire started last month so i dont think they are related. How much would you pay for this considering kbb in fair condition is $3800?
